As women, one of the most frustrating and challenging part of our lives is maintaining a healthy weight and body image.
You’d think a greater challenge would be the twenty projects we are trying to juggle or paying the bills. But, nope! It’s how our thighs touch and if our stomach rolls show through our shirt or if our butt looks big in our jeans.
Whether we are trying to lose 100 or more pounds or that last 10, we all feel this constant stress about our body and our weight.
We talk to our friends who have lost weight and look great to see what they did and may attempt that. But, eventually we fall back into our old routine.
Or maybe we do reach it to our goal weight, but then we find that doesn’t really make us happy either. Now we have the stress of trying to maintain it and fear we might slip up. We thought everything would be great if we were “x” weight, but now feel even more anxious.
Whether trying to lose weight or maintain our weight, we really want to succeed. We might try a formal program like Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig or something we saw online.
But, the deprivation from small portions and lack of accountability makes us obsess about our weight and food even more and wonder if it’s worth it.
The sad thing is most of us give up before ever achieving our goal weight and decide living with the constant stress is part of life. We get discouraged and settle for being overweight or anxious, even if it makes us unhappy.
